Top Tips to Hosting A Killer Scrapbook Party
There are two kinds of people in this world: people who want to scrapbook and people who actually make time to scrapbook.
If you're anything like me, you have hundreds (okay, thousands) of photos sitting on your phone waiting for "someday" when you'll finally organize them. The good news? Scrapbooking is a lot more fun when you turn it into a party!
Recently, I hosted a "Sip & Scrap" night with friends, and it was exactly what every busy mom needs: good friends, Diet Coke, snacks, laughter, and finally getting some memories onto paper. No pressure. No perfection. Just a fun evening dedicated to preserving the moments we never want to forget.
If you've been thinking about hosting your own scrapbook party, here are my favorite tips for making it a night everyone will love.
1. Keep It Casual
The biggest mistake people make when hosting a scrapbook party is thinking it needs to be a huge production. Spoiler alert: it doesn't. You don't need fancy decorations, a perfectly styled charcuterie board, or matching scrapbook supplies (I mean, you can if you want ๐). A few friends around the table with some photos and snacks is enough.
Our Sip & Scrap night was exactly that. We grabbed Diet Cokes, spread out our supplies, and spent a few hours working on projects while catching up on life. The goal isn't to finish an entire scrapbook. The goal is simply to make progress and have fun. When itโs simple, youโre more likely to host again, or even make it a monthly ritual!
2. Print Your Photos Before the Party
Nothing kills scrapbook momentum faster than not having any of your photos ready OR spending the entire evening scrolling through your camera roll trying to decide what to print. That's why I love using Persnickety Box. Every month a box of prints open in the app and you swipe your favorite phone photos. They arrive already printed and ready to use. No last-minute printing runs. No forgetting which photos you wanted. No sorting through 10,000 pictures on your phone! Just grab your photo box and start creating.
Remind your guests to print their photos before the party! I even suggest them to get them organized and print their photos the day I invite them!

3. Create a Supply Station
One of the easiest ways to make your scrapbook party feel organized is to create a central supply area.
Set out: adhesives, scissors, pens and markers, washi tape, stickers, paper trimmers, patterned paper, journal cards
Before your party, print some of our Free Scrapbook Journal Card Downloads so everyone has plenty of options to work with.
This allows guests to share supplies and experiment with different styles without everyone needing to bring everything themselves. Need ideas? Our Top Amazon Scrapbook Supplies guide includes some of our favorite beginner-friendly tools that make scrapbooking easier and more enjoyable.
4. Don't Worry About Being "Creative"
This might be the most important tip of all. So many women tell me they aren't scrapbookers because they aren't artistic. Friend, that's not true. The purpose of a scrapbook isn't to impress anyone. It's to preserve memories.
Some of my favorite pages are nothing more than photos, a date, and a few handwritten notes about what was happening in that season of life. Years from now, your kids won't care whether your embellishments matched. They'll care that you recorded the story.
